Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rampus Killon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Shileds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rampus Killon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Shileds!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shileds has a takedown stuffed.
Killon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Shileds holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Killon prevents the takedown attempt.

Killon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shileds wants to clinch up but Killon keeps it at a distance.
Killon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shileds pinned against the cage. Shileds gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Killon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Shileds counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Killon's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rampus Killon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shileds postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Killon looking to control.

Shileds gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shileds doesn't manage to clinch there - Killon circles away.
Killon wants to clinch up but Shileds keeps it at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Killon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Killon swats away the attempt to clinch by Shileds.

Killon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shileds napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Killon trying to control the position but Shileds is working away.

Shileds wants to get back to his feet.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Shileds is not content to let Killon control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rampus Killon just wasn't active enough.
Shileds tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Killon swivels and escapes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shileds stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shileds wants it to stay on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Shileds ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Shileds no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Killon showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Killon looking to sit in guard and control but Shileds gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shileds passes Killon's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Killon moves into full guard.
Shileds is looking to work some ground and pound but Killon has wrist control.

Shileds drops back, looking for a kneebar! Killon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Killon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Killon!
Killon prevents Shileds from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Shileds will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Killon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Shileds counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Shileds in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Shileds working some strikes from top position.
Shileds cracks Killon with a solid left hand.
Shileds throws a strike but Killon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Killon trying to stand up but can't free himself from Shileds's guard.

Killon gets to his feet - Shileds follows without any prompting.

Killon fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shileds tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Killon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shileds avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Killon has closed the distance and engaged Shileds in a clinch.
Shileds is pressed up against the cage. Killon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shileds down to the mat. Shileds avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Shileds shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shileds showed some decent athleticism there.

Shileds is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Killon has hold of Shileds's hands but Shileds slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Killon is looking to control Shileds's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Killon avoid being mounted?
Shileds working the head and body with strikes.
Shileds has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Killon wants to control but Shileds is keeping busy.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shileds decides to stand up.
Shileds wants to clinch up but Killon keeps it at a distance.
Killon fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shileds avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Killon feints and then cracks Shileds's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shileds down.
Shileds is breathing heavily.
Killon tries for a takedown but Shileds sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rampus Killon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Killon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shileds but Shileds pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Shileds rushes Killon and presses him up against the cage.
Killon tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Killon fails to pull guard.

Killon jumps into guard, dragging Shileds to the mat.
Shileds throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Killon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shileds on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Killon is working an open guard so Shileds takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Shileds manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Killon on his heels. He'll look to pass Killon's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shileds postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Shileds postures up in Killon's guard and throws a big left but Killon blocks it.

Shileds drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Killon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shileds has Killon in his guard.
Killon trying to control the position from guard on top but Shileds is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Shileds showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Killon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shileds is fending him off so far but Killon persists. Nope, Shileds circles away and we're back to standing.

Shileds drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shileds with a nice head shot there.
Killon wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shileds stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Killon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shileds.
Killon misses with a body shot.
Killon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rampus Killon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shileds closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Shileds drags the fight down to the ground.

Killon looking to sit in guard and control but Shileds gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Killon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Shileds working some strikes from top position.
Killon wants to sweep here but Shileds controlling him for the moment.
Killon is working hard here to advance position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Killon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shileds.
Shileds won't allow Killon to sweep him here.

Shileds is looking to work some ground and pound but Killon has wrist control.
Killon controls Shileds momentarily but Shileds frees himself.
Killon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Shileds is working Killon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Shileds throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Shileds is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Shileds lands a couple of digs.
Shileds won't allow Killon to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shileds throwing strikes but missing.

Killon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Shileds is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Shileds distracts Killon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Killon wants to sweep here but Shileds controlling him for the moment.
Shileds slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Killon.

Shileds is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Killon is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
