The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear tries to bum rush Vatuvei with a series of wild strikes but Vatuvei uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Bear has managed to clinch.
Vatuvei has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bear is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Bear gets underhooks to prevent Vatuvei's takedown attempt.

Bear pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bear is looking to clinch.

Bear clinches up against the cage.
Vatuvei has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bear is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bear throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vatuvei stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bear is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bear paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nice uppercut lands for Bear. That snapped Vatuvei's head back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
