Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kal Too (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kal Too!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Rubio!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubio connects with the punch.

Rubio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rubio lands in his opponent's guard.
Too is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rubio is controlling him.
Too is pulling down on Rubio's head. It's preventing any offense from Rubio, at least for the moment.
Rubio loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Too looking for a sweep. Not yet Too, not yet.

Too is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rubio is aware though and is defending well.
Rubio tries to free his leg and advance position but Too is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rubio prevents Too from getting back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rubio accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rubio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rubio scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Rubio with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rubio tries to free his leg and advance position but Too is retaining full guard.
Rubio looking to sit in guard and control but Too gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Too has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rubio is proving hard to escape from.
Too trying to control but Rubio is working from the bottom.

Too avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Too is pushing down on Rubio's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rubio is fighting to maintain full guard but Too has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rubio avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Too.
Rubio is trying to control but Too passes into side control!
What's Rubio going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Too misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Too tries to stand but Rubio is controlling his head.
Too wants to control but Rubio is keeping him busy.
Rubio can't do much from the bottom here.

Too decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Rubio shoots in and drives through. Too sprawls well.

Too gets caught napping as Rubio dives in and scores a takedown. Too manages to retain guard.
Too avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Rubio trying to control the position from guard on top but Too is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rubio sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Too working a defensive guard here.

Rubio drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Too dives on top into guard.
Too is in close to Rubio's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Too slips nicely into half guard.
Rubio tries to roll over but Too keeps him under control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rubio gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Rubio dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Too dives in and scores a takedown into Rubio's guard.
Rubio trying to control the position.
Too is looking to work some ground and pound but Rubio has wrist control.
Too stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rubio swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Too passes Rubio's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Too is controlling the pace.
Rubio is trying to maintain the position but Too is very close to passing his half guard.
Kal Too overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Too blocks the strikes from Rubio.

Too stands up out of the half guard.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Too taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Rubio is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Too pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Too shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Too was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Too looking to control and managing it successfully.
Rubio tries to hold on but Too postures up.

Too wants to control the pace but Rubio is squirming around nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rubio wants to hold on but Too pushes him away.
Too lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Too looking to control but Rubio is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rubio taking shots to the head.
Rubio wants to control but Too is having none of it.
Too postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rubio looks a forlorn figure.

Too is stalling here but it's allowed Rubio to get half guard.
Too uses his free foot to push down on Rubio's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rubio.
Rubio wants to hold on but Too pushes him away.
Too trying to control but Rubio is having none of it.
Too pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Too throwing strikes here but Rubio is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Too jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rubio is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rubio and Too has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Too looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rubio is avoiding damage well.
Too working the ground and pound.
Rubio tries to improve position but can't.
Too tries to advance to mount but can't.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Too in side control, just content to control the action for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Too working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kal Too dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Rubio looks for a takedown but Too sprawls well.

Rubio looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Too puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Too wants to stand up but Rubio has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Too is trying to control the action in half guard but Rubio is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Too decides to stand up.

Rubio shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Too napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Rubio creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Too sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Too sneaks back into half guard.
Rubio is looking to stall here but Too recovers full guard.

Rubio advances position into side control!

Rubio is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Too knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Too tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Too regains half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Too taking some punishment here, with Rubio in his half guard.
Rubio throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Adam Rubio.
I think Rubio has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
