Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Saarinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Allen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikko Saarinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Allen!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saarinen has his takedown stuffed
and Allen counters with a straight right hand.
Allen lands with a thumping leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Saarinen.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Saarinen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Allen counters with a right hand to the body.
Allen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Saarinen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Allen lands the left hand.
Saarinen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Allen stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikko Saarinen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Allen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Saarinen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Allen.
Allen moves out of range as Saarinen strikes.
A decent looking cross lands there for Allen.
Saarinen walks into a straight right hand from Allen.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Saarinen takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Saarinen throws a shot from downtown. Allen moves away and avoids it.
Allen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Saarinen takes a jab right on the kisser.
Allen throws out a powerful jab.

Saarinen misses with a left hand
and Allen counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Saarinen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Allen's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Allen controlling Saarinen's posture.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Allen wants to stand but Saarinen is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Allen dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Allen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Saarinen. Saarinen circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Saarinen misses with a hook.
Allen thows a left - swing and a miss!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen lands an overhand right.
Saarinen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Allen.

Saarinen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Saarinen throws a lazy uppercut
and Allen counters with a straight right hand.
Saarinen takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Saarinen throws a poor cross that misses
and Allen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Saarinen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Allen pinned against the cage. Allen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Allen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Saarinen has time to react.
Saarinen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Allen.
Al Allen seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Allen works the jab nicely.
Saarinen throws an off balance right hand
and Saarinen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A jab from Allen finds it's way through Saarinen's defenses.
Saarinen misses with an uppercut. Allen saw that one coming.
Allen scoring well with a low kick there.
Allen feints and then cracks Saarinen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Saarinen down.
Al Allen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Allen lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Mikko Saarinen has been cut.
Saarinen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Allen as he jumps to the side.
Saarinen shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikko Saarinen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Allen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Saarinen has time to react.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Mikko Saarinen's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Allen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Saarinen.
Allen listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Saarinen is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Allen works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Saarinen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Saarinen throws a big shot that misses.

Decent striking displayed by Allen there.
Saarinen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Allen counter with a right hand.
Saarinen takes one to the side of the head.
Saarinen takes a swing at Allen's ribcage but misses.
A big left from Saarinen misses.

Saarinen jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Saarinen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Saarinen prevents Allen from getting back to his feet.
Saarinen throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Allen tries to stand but Saarinen is controlling from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Saarinen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Allen is one step ahead there.
Allen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Saarinen is proving hard to escape from.
Allen looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Al Allen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Al Allen.
Nice body punch from Allen.
Allen lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Mikko Saarinen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Allen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Al Allen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Allen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
