The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferguson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ferguson lands in his opponent's guard.

Huong is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ferguson is aware though and is defending well.

Huong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferguson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ferguson connects with a nice short shot to Huong's temple.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Ferguson wants to control but Huong is keeping him busy.
Ferguson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ferguson uses his free foot to push down on Huong's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Huong.
Ferguson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Huong can do anything to dispel that myth.
