PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Akaboro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is M.O.P. - Ante Up. Patrick Owen has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owen doesn't manage to clinch there - Akaboro circles away.

Owen moves into the clinch.
Akaboro tries to break the clinch but Owen is controlling the position.
Owen lands a left hand.
Owen throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Akaboro is trying to break the clinch but Owen has him pressed against the cage.

Owen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Akaboro uses from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Owen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Akaboro has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Akaboro!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Patrick Owen.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Danny Akaboro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Akaboro rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Owen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

I would just about give that final round to Danny Akaboro.
