PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Age (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor Clegane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clegane has chosen Barbie Girl as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ray Age!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregor Clegane!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Age slips under a jab from Clegane.
Clegane looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Clegane scores with a shot to the body.
Clegane misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Age on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Clegane. Clegane obviously looking to wear him down.

Clegane scores with a takedown into Age's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Age avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Clegane content to stall in guard here.
Clegane trying to control the position from guard on top but Age is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Clegane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gregor Clegane was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Both fighters circling a little - Clegane finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Age is breathing heavily.

That kick from Clegane tenderised Age's leg. Age is trying to keep his angry face on.
Gregor Clegane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Clegane wants to control but Age is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clegane creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Age sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Clegane misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Clegane tries to advance to mount but Age denies him.
Clegane has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Age!

It looks like Clegane might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Age avoids a series of strikes thrown by Clegane.
Age is squirming around, avoiding Clegane's attempts to control the action.
Clegane controlling the pace for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Age is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Clegane connects with a right hand. Age shakes it off.
A slapping leg kick lands for Clegane.
Clegane lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Age shoots in looking for a takedown. Clegane tries to sprawl out of it but Age keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clegane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Clegane darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Clegane is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Age sees it coming and defends easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Clegane not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Clegane is trying to control the action in half guard but Age is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Clegane might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Age kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Age avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Clegane.

Clegane wants to pass the guard but Age is defending well.
Clegane is taking a breather. Age says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Gregor Clegane has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Clegane lands a nice leg kick that just misses Age's sensitive parts.
Age chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Clegane can pounce on him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Age gets tackled into the cage by Clegane. Clegane maintains the clinch.
Clegane lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Clegane has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Age regains guard immediately.

Clegane is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Age utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Age keeping moving, preventing Clegane from controlling successfully.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gregor Clegane wasn't active enough on the ground.
A head kick from Clegane lands but Age takes it in his stride.

Clegane fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Age looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Clegane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Clegane content just to control the position here.
Clegane wants to control the pace but Age is squirming around nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gregor Clegane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Clegane slaps away a takedown attempt from Age, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Age is not content to let Clegane control the position.
Clegane takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Clegane shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Age is trying to defend but Clegane finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Gregor Clegane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gregor Clegane hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Age shoots for a takedown but Clegane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Age. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Age takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Age on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Age stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Clegane.
Clegane lands with a nice body kick.

Clegane throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Clegane dives in and scores a takedown into Age's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ray Age has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gregor Clegane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Clegane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
