Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Roller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Temirlan Munara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Temirlan Munara!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munara closes this distance looking for a takedown but Roller circles away.
Roller throws a hook but Munara avoids it easily.

and Munara counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Roller has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Munara is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Roller pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Munara thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

You can see the frustration on Roller's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Roller is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Munara is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Munara wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roller keeps working.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Munara has knee on belly and moves into mount.

A close round but Temirlan Munara will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Munara tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Munara is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Roller gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Munara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Munara takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
