Stokenhizer has chosen The Lucky Bullets "Cross the Line" as his entrance music. Aaron Average could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hanz Stokenhizer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Aaron Average!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Hanz Stokenhizer!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Average does it's job there.
Average will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Average is defended easily by Stokenhizer.
Stokenhizer dodges the punch combination from Average.

Average postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stokenhizer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Average, into his guard.

Average escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Average misses with a double jab.
Average throws a series of strikes that have Stokenhizer backpedaling.
Average thows a body shot but no joy.

Average closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Stokenhizer did well to prevent Average getting side control.
Average thows a huge punch but Stokenhizer dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Average is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stokenhizer is just riding it out for now. Average eventually gives up the hold.

Stokenhizer gets back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Average drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stokenhizer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Average has Stokenhizer in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Average lands a nice shot that snaps Stokenhizer's head back.

and Stokenhizer counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Average uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Average shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stokenhizer but Stokenhizer pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Stokenhizer leaves Average with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Stokenhizer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Aaron Average wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Average ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stokenhizer moves away.
Aaron Average is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A nice combination there by Average.
Aaron Average seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stokenhizer misses with a head kick.
Average looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Average drives through and clinches with Stokenhizer against the cage.
Average jumps guard but Stokenhizer stands there with Average around his waist. Average gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Average is looking to break free of the clinch but Stokenhizer has double underhooks.
Stokenhizer throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Average blocks it with crossed arms.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

and Stokenhizer counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Average is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Average closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Average swings around for an armbar but Stokenhizer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Average's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Average is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stokenhizer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aaron Average.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Average, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
