Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Jones!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard.
Jones is trying to stand.
Carter looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Jones tries to get to full guard but Carter has control of the leg.
Carter is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carter connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Carter wants to pass the guard but Jones is defending well.
Carter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Carter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones has hold of Carter's hands but Carter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Carter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Carter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jones on his heels. He'll look to pass Jones's guard now, I'm sure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Carter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?

Carter working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head.
Carter is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Carter is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Carter stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Carter which made him look bad.

Carter looks up at the clock and then as Jones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Carter smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.

Carter has clasped his hands together around Jones's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Carter connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jones some visible discomfort.
