Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joey Cigano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cigano swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Munoz counters with a left and a right that stings Cigano.

Cigano drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Munoz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cigano controls the pace.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Munoz can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cigano lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Cigano not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joey Cigano.
Munoz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Cigano drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Munoz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cigano. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee asks Cigano politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cigano prefers to stall for the moment though.
Cigano creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Munoz sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cigano trying to control the position but Munoz is working away.
Munoz trying to remain calm as Cigano controls from the top position.

Cigano working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Cigano lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Cigano in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cigano has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Munoz is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Cigano yanks on the arm and Munoz is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Cigano.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joey Cigano!
