Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donovan Rudy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donovan Rudy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Davis!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Rudy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rudy throws a series of punches but Davis avoids them all with ease.
Rudy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davis circles away quickly and effectively.
Rudy misses with the combination.
Davis looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Davis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rudy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Davis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rudy has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Davis off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Rudy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rudy's waist but Rudy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.
Davis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rudy!
It looks like Bruce Davis has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rudy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Donovan Rudy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Davis.

Rudy misses with a body punch
and Davis counters with a takedown into side control.
Rudy is not content to let Davis control the position.
Davis throwing strikes but Rudy manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Rudy decides to take the fight back to the feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rudy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Davis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Davis looks for a takedown but Rudy sprawls well.

Davis clinches up against the cage.
Rudy can't break the clinch.
Davis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rudy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davis circles away quickly and effectively.
Rudy throws a right and a left that both miss.
Davis moves in looking to clinch but Rudy pushes him off.
Davis looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rudy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Davis is trying to escape the mount.
Rudy looking to control and managing it successfully.

Rudy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davis can do anything to dispel that myth.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Donovan Rudy wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Rudy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Davis.
Davis closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rudy counters with a crisp one two that drops Davis! Rudy thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Davis to his feet! Davis is in big trouble!
Davis is rocked!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Davis tries to get into range but Rudy steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Davis! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Rudy scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Donovan Rudy!
