The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fengap missing with a left hand there. Mak was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Fengap scores a takedown into full mount!
Mak is squirming around, avoiding Fengap's attempts to control the action.
Mak is desperately trying to improve his position but Fengap has a good base and remains in mount.
Fengap really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fengap goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mak turns into him and now he's in Fengap's guard.
Mak is working Fengap over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Mak pushes down on Fengap's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Mak throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Fengap tries to get to full guard but Mak has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fengap keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Fengap is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mak scores with a couple of nice shots.

Mak is looking for a kimura but Fengap is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mak to get the leverage.
Mak thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fengap's head.
Fengap works his way to full guard. Good work.
Mak trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mak loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Fengap had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mak defends it easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mak accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mak chips away with some ground and pound.

Mak in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fengap working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mak.
Mak lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fengap is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mak with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Fengap escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mak lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Fengap is rocked!
Mak stands up over Fengap, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Fengap is still in real trouble! Can Mak finish him?
Fengap can't keep his opponent in guard - Mak advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mak looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fengap with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Mak lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Fengap quite badly. Fengap pulls Mak in close trying to recover. Mak postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Fengap on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Fengap doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freddy Mak!
