Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Owen Camas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Rizal!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camas has a takedown stuffed.

Rizal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Camas to the mat! Camas manages to get full guard.
Camas keeping full guard, as Rizal tries to pass.
Rizal passes Camas's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Camas is pressing down on Rizal's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rizal wants to control from the top but Camas keeps moving.
Rizal won't allow Camas to sweep him here.

Rizal missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rizal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Camas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jose Rizal hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Camas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rizal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Camas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Camas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rizal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Camas has managed to get both his arms back between Rizal's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Camas wants to control from the top but Rizal keeps moving.
Camas is looking to work some ground and pound but Rizal has wrist control.

Camas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rizal tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rizal lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Camas!
Camas tries to hold on but Rizal postures up.
Camas keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Camas tries to lock up and control but Rizal gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Rizal stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Rizal shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Camas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Camas is trying to control Rizal's posture but Rizal avoids it.
Camas gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rizal is trying to control. Camas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Camas tries to clinch but Rizal moves out of range.
Rizal looks to land a combination but Camas avoids it well.
Rizal throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Camas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Rizal dives in and scores a takedown into Camas's guard.
Camas tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Camas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rizal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rizal has gone for a leg lock! Camas slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rizal's guard.
Camas looking to sit in guard and control but Rizal gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rizal's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Rizal wants to control from the top but Camas keeps moving.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Camas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rizal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rizal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jose Rizal.

Rizal gets the takedown into side control.
Camas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rizal wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rizal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Camas keeps working.

Rizal goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Camas rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rizal's guard! Nice work there by Camas!

Camas stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Rizal rushes Camas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Camas keeping moving, preventing Rizal from controlling successfully.
Camas wants to sweep here but Rizal controlling him for the moment.
Camas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jose Rizal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Rizal fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Camas to the ground. Rizal is now in Camas's guard.

Camas has his foot on Rizal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rizal works his way back into a safe position though.

Rizal decides to stand back up. Rizal steps back and let's Camas get back to his feet.
Rizal throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Camas shoots in looking for a takedown but Rizal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Camas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Rizal closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Camas's guard.
Rizal wants to control from the top but Camas keeps moving.
Jose Rizal has got the better of the ground game so far.

Camas kicks Rizal off and gets to his feet.

Rizal shoots in and bounces Camas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Camas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Rizal can't escape the position.

Camas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rizal is looking to escape.
Rizal wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Camas is throwing strikes by Rizal counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Rizal regains half guard.
Rizal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Camas tries to stand and escape but Rizal actually recovers to full guard.
Camas tries to stand but Rizal is controlling from the bottom.

I would just about give that final round to Jose Rizal.
Well Rizal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
