The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velazquez throws a looping overhand right but Vengrio ducks down to avoid it.
Velazquez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Velazquez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Velazquez lands with a good body shot.
Vengrio lands with a kick to the temple. Velazquez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Shane Velazquez has been cut.
Velazquez misses with a body shot
and Vengrio counters with a big head kick but Velazquez shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Velazquez misses with a straight left.
Vengrio fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Velazquez on the side of the head.
A slapping body kick lands there for Vengrio.
Velazquez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vengrio connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Velazquez scrambles back to his feet.
Vengrio misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Velazquez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vengrio counters with a good, hard body kick but Velazquez shrugs it off.
Vengrio thumps Velazquez with a low kick.
Vengrio throws a sloppy head kick and Velazquez moves out of range easily.
Vengrio lands a leg kick that knocks Velazquez off balance momentarily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Vengrio.
Velazquez is breathing heavily.
Vengrio keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shane Velazquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vengrio lands with a cross.
Vengrio dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Velazquez. That did some damage!
Vengrio fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Velazquez.
That kick from Vengrio tenderised Velazquez's leg. Velazquez is trying to keep his angry face on.
Velazquez takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Velazquez is rocked!
Vengrio drops Velazquez with a big left hand! Velazquez is injured, injured bad! Vengrio jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
