Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent's entrance music is Superman. A fine choice. Severn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pride FC Theme. Ken Severn has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Clark Kent's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Clark Kent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Severn!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn dodges the punch combination from Kent.
Kent loads up on a big right hand but Severn slips the punch.
Kent misses with a kick to the body.
Kent will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kent tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Severn moves out of range of the leg kick from Kent.
Kent throws and low kick but Severn moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kent throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kent swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kent misses with a wild body shot.
Kent tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Severn paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Severn dodges the punch combination from Kent.

Some wild striking there from Kent.
Kent fails to land with a series of punches.
Kent misses with a straight left.
Kent throws a right hand that Severn ducks under and follows up with a left that Severn also avoids with ease.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kent throws a jab when Severn was well out of range.
Kent pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A combination from Kent does no damage.
Severn moves out of range as Kent strikes.
Severn takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Severn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kent.
Kent stalks Severn and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Severn's face. Severn staggers backwards, shaken.

Severn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Severn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kent, who protects the arm well.
Kent on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Severn takes a little break here. Kent wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Kent throws a shot from downtown. Severn moves away and avoids it.
Kent misses with a looping right.
Kent throws a series of punches but Severn avoids them all with ease.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kent throws out a loose jab but Severn uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kent knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Severn on the ground.

Severn stands and throws Kent's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Severn trying to control the action but Kent is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Severn moves into full mount!

Severn working for a guillotine from mount but Kent is in no mood to give up.

Kent defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Severn.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kent is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Severn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Clark Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kent throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Severn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kent to the mat! Kent manages to get full guard.
Kent on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kent tries to get out of the position.
Severn advances to half guard.
Severn works his foot free and advances to mount.
Severn pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Severn is working for a guillotine from mount but Kent frees his head quite easily.
Kent is looking to get to half guard.

Severn working for a submission but Kent is keeping him at bay.
Kent is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Severn with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Kent regains half guard.
Ken Severn has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kent is refusing to be controlled, as Severn sits in half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kent is trying to get back to full guard.
Severn frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Severn landing strikes from the mount and Kent is in trouble!
Kent wants to control but Severn is having none of it.

Severn has control of Kent's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kent regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Severn looking for a guillotine from mount but Kent is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ken Severn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Severn winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
