The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bingoman misses with a few strikes there.
Bingoman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bingoman throws a left and a right that both miss

and Sultan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sultan controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Santian Sultan wasn't active enough on the ground.

Bingoman throws a left and a right that both miss

and Sultan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sultan.
Sultan passes Bingoman's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bingoman is breathing heavily.
Sultan content to control rather than advance.
Sultan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bingoman!

Sultan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Santian Sultan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Bingoman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sultan counters with a thumping low kick.
Sultan is looking to slow Bingoman down with leg kicks.
A right-left combo lands from Bingoman.
Bingoman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Sultan counters with a good low kick that Bingoman was not able to check.
John Bingoman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sultan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sultan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Sultan forces the positional change into back control.
Sultan really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Bingoman.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sultan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Sultan gets control of Bingoman's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sultan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
