PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Larry Carnitine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carnitine's entrance music is Doro Pesch and Udo Dirkschneider covering Breaking the Law. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carnitine tries to clinch up but Torres circles away and keeps his distance.

Carnitine drops his hands momentarily and Torres takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Carnitine closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Torres quickly recovers to half guard.

Carnitine is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Torres still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Torres has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Carnitine has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Carnitine chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Torres can pounce on him.

Carnitine shoots in but Torres avoids the takedown attempt easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carnitine tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Torres smiles and moves away.

Torres cracks Carnitine on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Carnitine falls backwards against the cage. Torres follows up with more strikes that drop Carnitine to his knees. Torres keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Carnitine! This one is all over!
