Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Langol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerry Langol!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Langol prevents a takedown attempt there.

Silva postures up in Langol's guard and throws a big left but Langol blocks it.

Silva wants to control from the top but Langol keeps moving.

Langol is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Carlos Silva just wasn't active enough.
Langol doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Langol sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Langol changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Silva is looking for a sweep.

Silva manages to work his way to half guard, despite Langol's best efforts.

Silva looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Langol pushes past his half guard into mount!

Langol won't let Silva get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Langol is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Silva tries to roll over but Langol keeps him under control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Langol wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Carlos Silva will probably get the nod.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Langol manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Langol utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Silva is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Langol is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva tries to pull guard but Langol holds him up against the cage and eventually Silva drops back down to his feet.

Langol manages to break the clinch.
Silva dives in and grabs Langol's left leg, looking for a takedown. Langol pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.

Silva tries to pull guard but Langol won't allow it.

Langol creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Silva's defenses.
Silva is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Langol is defending well.

Langol gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Carlos Silva has been cut.

Langol pulls guard effortlessly.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Langol swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Langol keeps moving.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Langol has wrist control.

Langol wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jerry Langol will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on Carlos Silva's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Silva jumps guard but Langol turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Langol turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Langol tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Silva gets back to half guard.
Langol content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Langol really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Silva wants to improve his position but Langol is controlling well.

Jerry Langol has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Langol moves into range and clinches up with Silva.

Silva is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Langol to keep the fight standing.

Langol breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Langol looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Langol can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Langol would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jerry Langol comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Langol has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
