Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Denis Nazarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russel Cameron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cameron is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Surfin Bird. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cameron wants to clinch

so Nazarov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Nazarov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Nazarov won't allow Cameron to sweep him here.
Cameron not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cameron is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nazarov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cameron is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Cameron tries to buck Nazarov off but Nazarov is having none of it.

You can see the frustration on Cameron's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Cameron is trying to control Nazarov's posture but Nazarov avoids it.

Cameron is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nazarov is trying to get an arm triangle but Cameron is defending well.

Nazarov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cameron is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Nazarov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cameron rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Nazarov's guard! Nice work there by Cameron!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cameron paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Nazarov - great work!
