Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ismael Gesta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ismael Gesta!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dwayne Jack!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gesta lands with a straight right. Jack didn't see that one coming.
Jack doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gesta counters with a stiff right hand.

Jack scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Jack thows a huge punch but Gesta dodges it nicely.
Gesta keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Jack sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gesta defending well though.
Gesta blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jack.

Jack is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gesta is just riding it out for now. Jack eventually gives up the hold.
Jack is nestled in close to Gesta, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jack thows a huge punch but Gesta dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jack is working for a kimura but Gesta is defending it quite comfortably.
Jack is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Jack winds up and cracks Gesta with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Jack is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gesta doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jack.
Jack throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jack is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gesta defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gesta is trying to get back to full guard.
Gesta on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gesta tries to get out of the position.
Jack throwing shots but Gesta is blocking nicely.
Jack not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Jack throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Jack throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Jack passes the guard and advances to mount!
Gesta wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jack.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jack is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gesta to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gesta shrugs it off.

Jack is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gesta is surviving well by controlling Jack's body position as best he can.
Gesta holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Jack tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gesta wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jack.
Jack thowing shots but they're missing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jack raining down hammerfists from mount.
Jack has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jack looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Jack punishing his opponent with strikes.
Jack working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Jack lands a heavy elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jack pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A big strike lands for Jack! That's really hurt Gesta and he's turned his back - Jack keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Jack jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dwayne Jack! Dwayne Jack retains his lightweight title!
