Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Nawasaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergio Nova!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nawasaki sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Nawasaki shoots in and bounces Nova off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Nawasaki wants to get up but he can't break Nova's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Nova really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nawasaki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sergio Nova showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Nawasaki jumps guard and drags Nova to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Nawasaki pushes Nova off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Nawasaki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nova was well out of range. Poor timing from Nawasaki.
Sergio Nova seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Nawasaki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nova looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Nova tries to bench press Nawasaki off him but Nawasaki keeps the position.
Nova struggling a bit here.
Nawasaki will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nawasaki has hold of Nova's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Nova seems comfortable defending it but Nawasaki has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Nova is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Nova is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Nawasaki couldn't care less - he's delighted!
