Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Giordano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giordano has chosen Godfather Theme (hip hop remix) as his entrance music. Ivan Ko has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ko gets caught flat footed, as Giordano shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Giordano throws an elbow that misses. Ko uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Giordano's guard. Nice move by Ko!

Giordano is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Giordano has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Ko escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Ko!

A close round but Antonio Giordano will probably get the nod.
That's time! Ko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sloppy strikes from Giordano. Those never looked like landing.
Ko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Giordano fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ko tries to close the distance and clinch but Giordano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ko misses with an uppercut. Giordano saw that one coming.

Giordano fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ko sprawls well initially but Giordano persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Giordano is just content to waste time from the top position. Ko takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Giordano slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ko looks to land a combination. Giordano sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Antonio Giordano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ko doesn't manage to clinch there - Giordano circles away.

Ko tries to close the distance and clinch but Giordano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Giordano misses with a hook. Ko ducked under it nicely.
Ko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ko leaves Giordano with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ko is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Giordano swings for the body but Ko moves out of range.
Giordano throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ko's waist but Ko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Giordano off to one side.
Ko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Giordano lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ko circles away quickly and effectively.
Giordano bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ko's head backwards.

Ivan Ko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ko throws a right and a left that Giordano avoids nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ko lands with a straight right. Giordano didn't see that one coming.

Giordano shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ko pinned against the cage. Ko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ivan Ko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Giordano.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ko is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Ko tries to bum rush Giordano with a series of wild strikes but Giordano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ko darts in and clinches Giordano up against the cage.
The referee calls for Ko to work.
Ko gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Giordano.
Ko tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Giordano's elbow.

Ko lands a hook that snaps the head of Giordano backwards.
Ko struggles to land a body shot inside as Giordano controls his hands.

Ko lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Giordano tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ko just stands there and leans against the cage.
Giordano tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ko fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Ko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ko thuds a left hand into Giordano's body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Giordano shoots in for a takedown but Ko shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ivan Ko is winning the standup battle so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I think Giordano has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
