The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romeua stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Friedrich.
Friedrich missing with a left hand there. Romeua was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Romeua looks to score with a jab to the body but Friedrich is just out of range.

Friedrich closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Friedrich lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Friedrich is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Friedrich postures up in Romeua's guard and throws a big left but Romeua blocks it.

Friedrich looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Romeua with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Romeua is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Friedrich scores with a couple of nice shots.
Friedrich is pressing down on Romeua's thigh, looking to free his foot. Romeua is holding on for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Romeua can do anything to dispel that myth.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Friedrich connects with a nice short shot to Romeua's temple.

Friedrich lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Romeua quite badly. Romeua pulls Friedrich in close trying to recover. Friedrich postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Romeua on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Romeua doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
