Vernon comes to the cage accompanied by Ari Gold - Let's Hug It Out, BITCH. Silva has chosen Ain't No Sunshine - (DMX) as his entrance music. Silva has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Dai Vernon is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a hook to the side of Vernon's head but Vernon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jaxon Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva looks gassed!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Silva crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Vernon - the referee stops the clock and Silva gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Vernon. Silva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Vernon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.
Vernon lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Silva down.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vernon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
