Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Algenir Mira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Romo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva with a poor takedown
and Mira counters with a nice low kick that buckles Silva's knee momentarily.
Algenir Mira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mira stuffs the takedown attempt from Silva. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Silva has his takedown stuffed
and Mira counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Algenir Mira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Romo Silva.
Mira closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Romo Silva has been cut.
Mira throws a series of strikes that have Silva backpedaling.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva.

and Mira counters with a two punch combo.
Mira lands with a slapping head kick.
Algenir Mira is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Mira, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Mira against the cage but Mira circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silva is trying desperately to land a takedown but Mira is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Silva.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mira.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mira counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silva thinking.
Mira scores with a three punch combo!

Silva is rocked!

That has opened up Romo Silva's cut even more.
Silva misses with a takedown
and Mira counters with a right hand to the body.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mira as he avoids it easily.
Silva looks gassed!

Mira misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Mira lands a big head kick that sends Silva tumbling to the mat! Mira takes a step backwards and waves Silva back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Mira finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mira steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Silva is out on his feet! Mira sets himself and nearly takes Silva's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

A relieved looking Algenir Mira thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
