PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Dunne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dunne has chosen fight!!! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luther King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Micheal Dunne!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunne takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
King throws a nice looking combination but Dunne bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dunne scores with a one two! King had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Dunne clinches with his opponent.
Dunne misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Dunne breaks from the clinch.
Dunne keeps the fight on the outside.
King is looking to clinch but Dunne is avoiding it.
King is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
King misses with an attempted mid kick.
Dunne throws a right and a left that both miss.
King lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dunne at a distance.
King swinging wildly here.

Dunne has King up against the cage in a clinch.

Dunne lands an elbow just above King 's eye.
Dunne's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

King tries to score a body lock takedown but Dunne shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

King is trying to push Dunne away but Dunne has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
King is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dunne is defending well for now.

King tries to break the clinch but Dunne is controlling the position.

King throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Dunne closes the distance and clinches.
King fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Dunne lands a good knee to the midsection. King won't want to take too many of those.
Dunne is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Dunne is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Dunne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
King lands with a hook. Dunne tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Dunne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
King is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dunne is trying to work for a single leg takedown but King pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Dunne lands an elbow that stopped King in his tracks for a moment.

Dunne tries to land a front kick but King steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

King swings for the body but Dunne moves out of range.
King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

No joy there for Dunne, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

King jumps guard but Dunne stands there with King around his waist. King gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
King tries to break the clinch but Dunne is controlling the position.
King wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dunne has King pressed against the cage.
Dunne lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Dunne lands an elbow that stopped King in his tracks for a moment.
Micheal Dunne seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
King is trying to break free.
Dunne manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

King is trying to pull guard but Dunne turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

King wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Micheal Dunne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

King throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
King throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dunne stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

King tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Dunne counters by moving into the clinch.
Dunne has King pressed against the cage, preventing King from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
King is trying to break the clinch but Dunne is controlling him.
Dunne lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Dunne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

King misses with an attempted mid kick.
King closes the distance but Dunne moves to the side

and Dunne holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
King is trying to push Dunne away but Dunne has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

King pulls Dunne into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
King wants to sweep here but Dunne controlling him for the moment.
Dunne is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dunne wants to stand and escape but instead King has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dunne wants to get back to his feet but King passes into half guard.
King stops Dunne from getting back to his feet.
Dunne takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dunne kicks King off and gets back to his feet.
King throws a head kick but Dunne moves out of range.
King throws a head kick that misses.

Dunne has managed to clinch.
King blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Dunne creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through King's defenses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dunne struggles to land a body shot inside as King controls his hands.

King gets control of Dunne's arms and successfully pulls guard. King will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now King is on top in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells King's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dunne wants to stand up but King is controlling him.
King trying to control but Dunne is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King pushing down on Dunne's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
King wants to stand but Dunne has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
King working over Dunne with some ground and pound. Dunne looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Dunne pushes King off but King dives into side control.

King looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Dunne is not content to let King control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luther King showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Dunne has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
