The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiger lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Novikov circles away quickly and effectively.
Novikov swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Kiger counters with a series of strikes. Novikov will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kiger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Novikov swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kiger swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kiger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Evgeni Novikov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kiger doesn't manage to clinch there - Novikov circles away.
Novikov dodges the punch combination from Kiger.
Novikov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kiger moves away.

Novikov cracks Kiger's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Kiger slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Novikov can do further damage! This one is done, son!
