Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Simon Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Vai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Simon Cole has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole misses with a takedown

and Vai moves into the clinch.

Vai turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Vai manages to end up in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cole is not content to let Vai control the position.
Vai scores with a couple of short elbows.

Cole is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

In his post fight interview, Joe Vai started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
