The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nielsen drives through with a takedown into Silva's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Nielsen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nielsen is working away from the top position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nielsen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.

Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nielsen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Nielsen tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nielsen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nielsen rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Nielsen is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
