The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashantie moves in looking to clinch but Trooper pushes him off.
Trooper moves out of range of the strikes.
Trooper swats away the attempt to clinch by Ashantie.
Ashantie misses with a double jab.
Ashantie throws a hook but Trooper blocks it.

Ashantie rushes Trooper and presses him up against the cage.
Trooper lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

It looks like Congo Ashantie has been cut.
Ashantie prevents a takedown attempt there.

Trooper pulls guard successfully.
Trooper tries to strike from the bottom.

Trooper is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ashantie defends well.

Ashantie stands up from Trooper's guard - Ashantie perhaps looking for a knockout.

Ashantie misses with a body shot.
Ashantie fails to land with a series of punches.
A chopping leg kick lands by Ashantie.

Ashantie has managed to clinch.
Trooper tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ashantie smiles and moves away.
Ashantie throws a nice outside leg kick.
Trooper tries for a takedown but Ashantie circles away easily
and Ashantie counters with a good low kick that Trooper was not able to check.
Congo Ashantie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Super Trooper.
Trooper looks gassed!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Trooper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ashantie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Trooper somewhat.
Ashantie fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Ashantie clobbers Trooper with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looks like Super Trooper has been cut.
Ashantie fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Trooper.
Trooper blocks the body kick.
Ashantie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ashantie looks to score with a jab to the body but Trooper is just out of range.
Ashantie misses with a body shot.
Ashantie bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Trooper's head backwards.
A big right from Ashantie misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ashantie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Trooper goes for a takedown attempt but Ashantie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ashantie fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ashantie lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Ashantie feints and then cracks Trooper's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Trooper down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ashantie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ashantie scores with a punch to the head.

Ashantie gets a clinch.
Ashantie lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

That has opened up Super Trooper's cut even more.
Trooper goes for a takedown attempt but Ashantie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ashantie pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ashantie scores with a leg kick.
Trooper has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Ashantie.

Ashantie feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Trooper sprawling to the canvas! Trooper rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ashantie finish him?!

Trooper is rocked!
Trooper tries to get into range but Ashantie steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Trooper! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Ashantie scores the big KO victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Congo Ashantie!
