Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boy Kalawit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jun Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Boy Kalawit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Akiyama!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalawit with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Akiyama checks a leg kick.
Kalawit is looking to chop away at Akiyama's legs.
Kalawit misses with a combination

and Akiyama counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kalawit looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Akiyama passes into side control.

Akiyama tries for a kimura but Kalawit is defending well.
Kalawit manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kalawit looks like he's trying to stand up.
Akiyama controlling the action here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Akiyama is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kalawit sees it coming and defends easily.

Akiyama decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kalawit changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Akiyama tries to avoid it but Kalawit manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Akiyama to the ground. Akiyama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kalawit tries to score a power double leg takedown but Akiyama sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kalawit somewhat.
Kalawit is breathing heavily.

Akiyama shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Akiyama putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Akiyama cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


Kalawit is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kalawit is in a horrible position here. Akiyama smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Oh Kalawit is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oooh a big shot lands for Akiyama! Kalawit is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jun Akiyama!
