The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shinto catches Saotome napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Saotome to the canvas!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shinto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Saotome is still in real trouble! Can Shinto finish him?
Saotome wants to stand up but Shinto is controlling him.
Shinto throws a big elbow that misses.
Shinto is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shinto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Saotome working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shinto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Saotome is tightening it up a little... Shinto has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Shinto reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Shinto taps out! Nice BJJ there by Saotome!
