Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Augusto Soto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Tempest!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tempest.
Tempest fails with a takedown attempt.

Soto shoots in and gets a takedown into Tempest's guard.
Tempest keeping full guard, as Soto tries to pass.
Tempest is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Soto throwing strikes from guard but Tempest blocks nicely.

Tempest is looking to stand up but Soto isn't so interested in that idea.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Soto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Soto works Tempest's body with a nice hook.
Soto lands a nice looking body shot.
Tempest looks gassed!
Tempest is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tempest tries a head kick but it misses.
Tempest moves forwards but Soto connects with a nice, crisp jab.


It looks like Paul Tempest has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Soto lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Soto dips to his left and cracks Tempest with an uppercut!
Tempest on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Soto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Tempest!


Tempest is rocked!
Soto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Tempest is still in real trouble! Can Soto finish him?
Tempest seems to have recovered his senses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Soto seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tempest for as long as he can get away with.
Tempest is in a horrible position here. Soto smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The cut above Paul Tempest's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Augusto Soto dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tempest tries to close the distance and clinch but Soto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tempest will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
An inside leg kick lands from Soto.
Soto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tempest.
Tempest throws a head kick but Soto moves out of range.
Soto cracks Tempest with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Soto digs a good hook to Tempest's body.
Both fighters circling a little - Soto finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tempest ducks straight into an uppercut from Soto and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Tempest manages to regain guard straight away.

Paul Tempest's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Paul Tempest's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Augusto Soto!
Augusto Soto retains his middleweight title!
A relieved looking Augusto Soto thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
