PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esteban Rodriquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriquez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rev Theory- Light it Up. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero lands a high kick!

Zero gets a clinch.
Rodriquez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Zero works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Zero looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Zero wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Rodriquez turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee asks Rodriquez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rodriquez prefers to stall for the moment though.
Zero looks to move to half guard but instead Rodriquez has passed into mount! Damn!
Zero can't escape the position.
Rodriquez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Zero tries to improve his position but instead Rodriquez has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zero trying to control the hands but Rodriquez won't let him.

Rodriquez is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Zero has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Rodriquez has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Zero taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Rodriquez doesn't care though - he's delighted!

After the fight, Esteban Rodriquez was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
