Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nemean Athos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Athos comes to the cage accompanied by Thundercats. Drake has chosen Blitzkrieg Bop as his entrance music. Nemean Athos had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Drake!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Athos finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Drake throws a head kick that misses.
Drake fails to land with a series of punches.
Drake swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Athos counters with a head kick. That will keep Drake thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Drake goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Athos looks to score with a jab to the body but Drake is just out of range.
Athos is looking to chop away at Drake's legs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Athos bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Drake steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Athos. That one must have hurt.
Drake's corner calls for a 1-2. Drake obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Drake throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Drake takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Athos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Athos checks a leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Drake throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Athos shoots in and bounces Drake off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Athos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Drake had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Athos defends it easily.

Drake is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Athos throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Drake throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Athos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Drake swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Athos is looking to advance position but Drake has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Drake cracks Athos with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Drake is landing with some decent strikes but Athos is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Drake is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Athos can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Drake is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Athos goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Drake!
