The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holden connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Holden keeps the fight on the outside.
Marciano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Holden swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Holden punishes Marciano's body with a nice straight punch.
A telegraphed right hand from Marciano misses the target.
Marciano doesn't manage to clinch there - Holden circles away.
A head kick misses from Holden.
Holden moves away from the strike by Marciano.
Holden lands with a cross.
Marciano tries to clinch but Holden is having none of it.
Marciano walks forward, straight into a front kick from Holden.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Holden moves into the clinch.
Holden is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Marciano is keeping busy.

Marciano gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Marciano swings for the body but Holden moves out of range.
Marciano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Holden swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Marciano throws a right and a left that Holden avoids nicely.

Holden tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Marciano smiles and moves away.
Rocky Marciano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marciano slips a jab and a cross from Holden.
Marciano moves out of range of the leg kick from Holden.
Marciano throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Holden counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Marciano lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Marciano thows a body shot but no joy.
Marciano fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rocky Marciano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marciano keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Holden pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Holden displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holden thows a left - swing and a miss!
Holden throws a body punch but Marciano moves out of range.
Marciano fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marciano is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marciano connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Holden scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Marciano doesn't seem bothered though.

Holden lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Marciano backwards.
Marciano tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Holden avoids it.
Holden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Marciano misses with the combination.
Marciano tries to close the distance and clinch but Holden swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marciano misses the jab.
Marciano tries a head kick but it misses.

Marciano throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Marciano throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marciano closes the distance and pushes Holden back into the cage.

Holden scores with a nice hook to the head.
Marciano misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Holden.
Nice body punch from Holden - that landed with a thud.
Marciano looks gassed!
Holden manages to pull guard.
Holden is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marciano defends well.
Holden has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Marciano doesn't defend quickly enough and Holden has managed to lock this one up! Can Marciano escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Holden on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Judge Holden!
Judge Holden took his opportunity to call for a title shot in his post fight interview.
