Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ad Santel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ad Santel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Allen!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santel looks for a takedown but Allen sprawls well.
Santel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Santel shoots in but Allen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ad Santel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Santel closes the distance and clinches up with Allen, looking for a takedown. Santel pushes Allen against the cage but Allen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Santel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jab, jab by Allen - just one landing.
Santel shoots in but Allen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That kick from Allen tenderised Santel's leg. Santel is trying to keep his angry face on.
Santel dives in and grabs Allen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Allen pushes down on Santel's head and hops out.

Allen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Santel momentarily.

Santel feints and as Allen raises his hands in defense, Santel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Allen is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Santel throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

and Allen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Allen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Allen wants to stand and escape but Santel is having none of it.
Allen controls Santel momentarily but Santel frees himself.

Allen wants to stand but Santel has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Santel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Santel is working an open guard so Allen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Santel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Allen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santel throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Santel will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Santel pulls Allen in close to prevent any damage.
Allen won't allow Santel to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ad Santel will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


No luck with that takedown attempt from Santel.
Santel shoots in and drives through. Allen sprawls well.

Santel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Santel thows a huge punch but Allen dodges it nicely.

Santel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Santel tries to get out of the position.
Allen wants to get up but he can't break Santel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Allen won't allow Santel to sweep him here.
Allen wants to stand but Santel is controlling his posture from full guard.
Santel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Al Allen was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Allen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Al Allen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Santel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Allen swivels and escapes.

and Allen counters with a three punch combo that has Santel backing up. Santel nods at Allen to acknowledge the strikes.

and Allen counters with a nice uppercut.
Santel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Allen.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Allen, as that shot connected.
Santel takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Allen lands a nice shot to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Allen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Ad Santel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Allen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Allen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Santel shoots for a double leg takedown but Allen sprawls well. He's pushed Santel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Allen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Santel takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Allen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Santel's head.
Al Allen seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Allen scores with the left hand. Santel knows he should have avoided that one.
Allen slaps away a takedown attempt from Santel, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Santel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Allen tries to avoid it but Santel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Allen to the ground. Allen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

A lazy left from Allen finds it's target.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Santel takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Horrible takedown by Santel or perhaps it was just good defense by Allen which made him look bad.
Santel looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Allen dips to his left and cracks Santel with an uppercut!

Santel shoots in for a takedown but Allen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Allen feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Santels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Allen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Santel. Santel circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Allen lands a jab to the nose.
Santel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Allen as he jumps to the side.

and Santel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Allen cracks Santel with an open hand slap.
Allen fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Santel walks into a stiff left hand from Allen.

Allen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Allen with a hook.
Santel has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Santel is rocked!
Allen seems to be stalking Santel here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Santel drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Al Allen!
