Mir comes into the arena with STOMP!!! by The Brothers Johnson!!! blaring out of the sound system. Munson has chosen Showdown as his entrance music. Frankestein Mir had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Mir looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A bone on bone clash there as Mir blocks the leg kick.

Mir dives in and scores a takedown into Munson's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mir stands up over Munson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Munson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Munson wants to control but Mir is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Munson seems content to control.
Mir slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mir wants to sweep but no luck.
Munson trying to move into half guard but instead Mir has managed to sweep!
Mir is in close to Munson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Mir throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Munson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mir postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Munson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Mir tries to free his leg and advance position but Munson is retaining full guard.
Mir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mir looking to sit in guard and control but Munson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Munson stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Mir has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Munson manages to get his head free but now Mir has transitioned to an armbar! Munson grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Mir! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
