The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lonzo shoots in for a takedown but Hoffman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lonzo wants to clinch.

Lonzo closes the distance and clinches.
Hoffman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lonzo smiles and moves away.
Lonzo checks the leg kick nicely there.
Nice straight punches there by Hoffman. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hoffman.
Lonzo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hoffman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lonzo scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Lonzo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lonzo looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hoffman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hoffman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lonzo prevents it.

Hoffman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lonzo pulls his leg out and moves away.
A slow jab from Hoffman misses its intended target.

Hoffman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lonzo to the ground. Hoffman is now in Lonzo's guard.

Hoffman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lonzo wants to sweep here but Hoffman controlling him for the moment.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
