The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Neguera paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Freeman is looking to clinch but Neguera is avoiding it.

Freeman darts in and clinches Neguera up against the cage.
Freeman tries for a takedown. No joy.

Freeman turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Freeman manages to end up in side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Neguera throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Neguera is looking for a sweep.
Neguera can't do much from the bottom here.
Neguera manages to work his way to half guard, despite Freeman's best efforts.

Freeman wants to work for an arm triangle but Neguera is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Freeman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Neguera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neguera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
