Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Cola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Fairtex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cola avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Cola shoots in and bounces Fairtex off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Cola lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Cola stands up from Fairtex's guard - Cola perhaps looking for a knockout.
Fairtex lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Fairtex tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cola paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cola drops Fairtex with a beautiful combination! Fairtex stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cola is looking for the KO!

It looks like Grant Fairtex has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cola swats away the attempt to clinch by Fairtex.
Cola shoots in and drives through. Fairtex sprawls well.
Fairtex seems to have recovered his senses.

Cola moves into the clinch.
Fairtex dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Cola breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cola shoots in and bounces Fairtex off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cola really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cola landing with the ground and pound.
Cola is working Fairtex over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Fairtex really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cola. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cola stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fairtex swivels though and keeps the full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cola gets to his feet. Fairtex looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Cola looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fairtex is fending him off so far but Cola persists. Nope, Fairtex circles away and we're back to standing.
Fairtex keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Cola. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cola shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fairtex sprawls well. Fairtex wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cola gets slowly back to his feet.
Cola will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Cola changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fairtex tries to avoid it but Cola manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fairtex to the ground. Fairtex escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cola shoots in for a takedown but Fairtex shows good takedown defense.

Cola moves into range and clinches up with Fairtex.

Cola manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cola is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Fairtex looks gassed!
Cola tries to throw a body punch but Fairtex avoids it by throwing Cola back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Cola throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fairtex was covering up waiting for the punch and Cola finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cola passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Fairtex is looking for a sweep.
The referee asks Cola politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cola prefers to stall for the moment though.
Fairtex tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Fairtex seems a little lost for a moment, as Cola dominates the positioning.
Fairtex is breathing heavily.

Fairtex gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Fairtex tries to control Cola's body but Cola pushes him off. Fairtex squirms to his side and now Cola has his back!
Cola has good solid back control here.
Cola has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fairtex grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
