The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawler lands with a right hand.
Lawler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Babin.
Lawler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Babin.
Babin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lawler moves out of range of the body kick.
Babin walks into a straight right hand from Lawler.
Lawler misses with a few strikes there.

Lawler does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

The fighters circling - Babin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Lawler scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lawler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Babin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Babin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lawler throws out the jab.

Lawler moves in looking to clinch but Babin pushes him off.
Babin swats away the attempt to clinch by Lawler.

Lawler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Babin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Eric Lawler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Babin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lawler moves away.
Lawler ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Babin lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lawler takes a step back to recover.

Babin tries to land a front kick but Lawler steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Babin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Babin throws a body punch but Lawler moves out of range.
Babin connects with a single shot there.
A slapping body kick lands there for Babin.
Babin misses with an attempted mid kick.
Lawler sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Babin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lawler.
Babin lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lawler will feel that in the morning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Babin, as that shot connected.

Babin lands a glancing blow to the side of Lawler's head.

Babin connects with a nice looking jab.
Lawler is still on wobbly legs! Can Babin finish him?
Lawler is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Babin Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Lawler is out cold, face down on the mat!
