Sushi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Slick counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Slick throws a strike but Sushi avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Slick won't allow Sushi to get back to his feet.
Slick working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sushi 's head.
Sushi is trying to control the position but Slick postures up.
Slick trying to control the position from guard on top but Sushi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sushi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Slick!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slick tries to control Sushi 's body but Sushi pushes him off. Slick squirms to his side and now Sushi has his back!
