PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jace Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jace Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Reilly!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reilly takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Dan Reilly has been cut.
Reilly throws a sloppy head kick and Alexander moves out of range easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Reilly.
Reilly shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alexander defends it nicely.
Reilly misses with a low kick.
Reilly takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Reilly shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alexander lands a left and a right that send Reilly crashing to the mat, dazed. Alexander thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Reilly is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Alexander to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Alexander shrugs it off.

Horrible takedown by Alexander or perhaps it was just good defense by Reilly which made him look bad.

Alexander stalks Reilly and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Reilly's face. Reilly staggers backwards, shaken.
Alexander throws a series of punches but Reilly avoids them all with ease.

Reilly shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alexander's guard.

Alexander shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Reilly eats them both and turns towards Alexander to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Reilly misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alexander scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Reilly misses with a takedown attempt - Alexander sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Reilly looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alexander is fending him off so far but Reilly persists. Nope, Alexander circles away and we're back to standing.

Alexander scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Reilly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alexander as he jumps to the side.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I would just about give that final round to Dan Reilly.
I think Reilly has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
