Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Weston Markson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Markson has chosen WHen your young as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Nick Diaz has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nick Diaz seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Weston Markson!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz connects with an inside leg kick.
Markson looks gassed!
Some bone on bone action there as Markson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Diaz misses with a low kick.
Diaz connects with an inside leg kick.
Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz wants to land a leg kick but Markson is out of range.
Markson blocks a leg kick.
Markson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Diaz fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Markson checks it well.
Diaz wants to slow Markson down by chopping away at his legs.

Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Diaz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Markson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Diaz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Diaz is pushing down on Markson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Markson is fighting to maintain full guard but Diaz has managed to sneak the leg through.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Markson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Markson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Diaz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Markson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Diaz.

Markson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Diaz rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Markson's guard! Nice work there by Diaz!
Markson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Weston Markson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Markson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Diaz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Diaz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Diaz!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Markson tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position.

I would just about give that final round to Weston Markson.
I think Markson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Weston Markson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
