The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vernon throws a nice looking combination but Killa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Killa connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Dai Vernon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Killa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vernon manages to avoid it.
Vernon tries a low kick but Killa avoids it.

Vernon throws a solid leg kick but Killa takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Vernon.

Vernon throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Killa on the side of the head.
Vernon cracks Killa with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Killa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vernon.
Vernon throws the left hand but Killa avoids the punch easily.
Vernon throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Killa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vernon.
Killa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vernon can pounce on him.
Vernon tries to clinch but Killa moves out of range.

Vernon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Killa has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Killa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vernon finds it's way round the side to connect with Killa's head.
Vernon dives in and grabs Killa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Killa pushes down on Vernon's head and hops out.
Sb Killa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dai Vernon.
Vernon finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Vernon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vernon loads up on a big right hand but Killa slips the punch.
Vernon throws the kick towards the body but Killa avoids it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed right hand from Killa misses the target.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Killa throws a hook to the side of Vernon's head but Vernon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vernon shoots in for a takedown but Killa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fighters circle momentarily. Vernon darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Killa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Vernon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Vernon wants to control but Killa is keeping him busy.
Vernon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Killa kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Vernon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Vernon postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Killa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Vernon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Still in half guard, Vernon seems content to control.
Killa is staying active underneath Vernon, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dai Vernon wasn't active enough on the ground.
Vernon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Killa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Vernon shoots for a double leg takedown but Killa sprawls well. He's pushed Vernon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Killa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Well,Killa is on his way to losing a decision here. Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vernon throws out a loose jab but Killa uses good head movement to avoid it.
Killa lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Vernon closes the distance and pushes Killa back into the cage.

I would just about give that final round to Dai Vernon.
Well Vernon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
