The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Bykov as he checks the leg kick.

Bykov has managed to clinch.

Bykov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bykov fails with the takedown

and Sawa counters with a single leg into guard. Bykov didn't expect that.
Sawa trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Bykov manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Bykov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Sawa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bykov moves out of range of the strikes.
Horrible takedown by Bykov or perhaps it was just good defense by Sawa which made him look bad.
Jake Sawa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitriy Bykov.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bykov.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bykov is squirming around, avoiding Sawa's attempts to control the action.
Bykov is trying to escape the mount.
Sawa takes Bykov's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Bykov is in trouble.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bykov prevents Sawa from getting a body triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sawa is really struggling to control Bykov but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Sawa is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Bykov knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Bykov for a finish.
