Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Havel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Kanzaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Micheal Havel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryo Kanzaki!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Havel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Horrible takedown by Kanzaki or perhaps it was just good defense by Havel which made him look bad.
Havel throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kanzaki fails with the takedown.

Havel gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Havel lands a body shot in the clinch.
Havel misses with a hook to the ribs.
Havel stalling.
Still in the clinch, Havel scores with a nice short uppercut.
Havel tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Havel lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kanzaki or not.

Havel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Havel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Havel stalks Kanzaki and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kanzaki's face. Kanzaki staggers backwards, shaken.
Havel bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Havel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Havel lands with a thumping leg kick.
Havel stuns Kanzaki with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Kanzaki moves out of range as Havel throws a body kick.
Micheal Havel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Havel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Havel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kanzaki takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Kanzaki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Havel!
Havel is looking to improve his position but Kanzaki isn't that keen on the idea.

Kanzaki is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Havel is surviving well by controlling Kanzaki's body position as best he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kanzaki is working for a guillotine from mount but Havel frees his head quite easily.

Havel wants to hold on but Kanzaki pushes him away.

Havel tries to reverse the position but Kanzaki maintains control.

Kanzaki with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Kanzaki goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Havel turns into him and now he's in Kanzaki's guard.

Havel stands up from Kanzaki's guard - Havel perhaps looking for a knockout.
Havel misses the jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Havel keeps Kanzaki at a distance using the push kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Havel.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Havel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kanzaki fails with the takedown
and Havel counters with a slapping leg kick.
Havel throws a body kick that misses.
Kanzaki shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kanzaki takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Havel throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kanzaki.
Havel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Micheal Havel is winning the standup battle so far.

Kanzaki closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Havel quickly recovers to half guard.
Kanzaki stops Havel from getting back to his feet.

Kanzaki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Havel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kanzaki, into his guard.
Kanzaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kanzaki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Havel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kanzaki keeping moving, preventing Havel from controlling successfully.
Kanzaki pulls Havel in close to prevent any damage.
Havel passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The referee asks Havel politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Havel prefers to stall for the moment though.
Havel is looking to take a break and control but Kanzaki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Havel stands up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Havel throws a series of punches but Kanzaki avoids them all with ease.

Havel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Some bone on bone action there as Kanzaki checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Havel tries to close the distance and clinch but Kanzaki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Havel throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Havel feints a jab promting Kanzaki to slip. Havel then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kanzaki slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Havel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kanzaki on the side of the head.

Kanzaki tries to move into range but Havel moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Kanzaki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Kanzaki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Havel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Havel has escaped and now he's on top!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Havel is looking to clinch.

Havel tries to bum rush Kanzaki with a series of wild strikes but Kanzaki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kanzaki on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Havel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kanzaki on the side of the head.

and Kanzaki counters with a single leg into guard. Havel didn't expect that.
Kanzaki stands and throws Havel's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kanzaki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Havel has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kanzaki goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Havel rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kanzaki's guard! Nice work there by Havel!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Havel is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kanzaki is pulling down on Havel's head. It's preventing any offense from Havel, at least for the moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Micheal Havel.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Havel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
