PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Kvasov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Oneale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kvasov comes into the arena with Diskoteka avaria-Nebo blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Patrick Oneale!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Kvasov.
Oneale swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kvasov, right into the meat.
Kvasov thumps Oneale with a low kick.
Oneale avoids the head kick by Kvasov.
Oneale checks the leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Kvasov.
Kvasov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Oneale bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kvasov pushes Oneale away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Oneale gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Oneale lands a few punches from side control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oneale throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Oneale is trying to get an arm triangle but Kvasov is defending well.
Oneale lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Oneale scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kvasov to see if he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kvasov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Oneale is controlling him well.

Oneale working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Oneale throws an elbow but Kvasov slips to the side and avoids it well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Oneale controls the position.
Kvasov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Oneale is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Patrick Oneale's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kvasov lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Oneale thows a body shot but no joy.
Kvasov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Oneale has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kvasov tries a head kick but it misses.
Kvasov lands a nice shot that snaps Oneale's head back.
Oneale's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Kvasov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kvasov feints and then cracks Oneale's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Oneale down.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kvasov lands a head kick. Oneale smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Kvasov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Oneale tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Kvasov throws a right and a left that Oneale avoids nicely.

Kvasov scores with a head kick. Oneale tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Roman Kvasov is winning the standup battle so far.
Oneale is breathing heavily.
Kvasov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Oneale has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oneale postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Kvasov out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Oneale goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
